Celebrate National Cat Day With These Record-Setting Felines

Saturday can only be described as “cataclysmic.”


That’s because Oct. 29 is National Cat Day, an annual event when cat people take a moment for fussing over their felines in order to celebrate that most enigmatic of domestic companions.
To a cat lover, every kitty is special. But there are a few lucky felines who have that little something extra: A Guinness World Record.
Take a look at these record-setting cats that each are “purr-fect” in their own way.

Most Tricks Done By A Cat In 1 Minute



As any cat owner knows, getting them to do even one trick is hard, so 20 is really impressive. As the video above shows, Didga, a cat based in Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia, is able to do everything from rolling over to jumping over a bar while on a skateboard.

Longest Fur On A Cat



Sophie Smith, a black-and-white cat owned by Jami Smith of Oceanside, California, owns the title for Cat With The Longest Fur. Her luxurious fur was measured at 10.11 inches in November 2013.

Shortest Cat (Living)



Lilieput, a 9-year-old female Munchkin cat from Napa, California, is the shortest living cat. She measures 5.25 inches from the floor to the shoulder. She is just 1.1 centimeters taller than a Coca-Cola can.

The Kremlin said on Friday that President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump had agreed in a phone call to exchange information about North Korea and cooperate on possible initiatives to resolve a crisis around the Asian nation.
