Hope Hicks Told President That Trump Jr.‘s Emails ‘Will Never Get Out’: Report

A former legal spokesman is expected to say that the White House communications director gave assurances to Trump. President Donald Trump’s former legal spokesman is expected to tell special counsel Robert Mueller about a previously undisclosed phone call in which White House aide Hope Hicks allegedly promised that emails from Donald Trump Jr. about a 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer “will never get out,” The New York Times has reported. The Times reported Wednesday that Mark Corallo, who resigned from his spokesman job in July, has accepted an interview request from Mueller’s team. Corallo reportedly plans to disclose that in the call, Hicks, the White House communications director, and Trump discussed the meeting that included Trump Jr., Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, then-campaign manager Paul Manafort and a Russian lawyer who was expected to give them negative information about rival Hillary Clinton. “Mr. Corallo planned to tell investigators that Ms. Hicks said

Tomi Lahren Apologizes to Congressman for Vulgar Remarks

The Fox News contributor said the comments on her personal Instagram went too far. Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren apologized on Wednesday night for calling Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III (D-MA) "a little limp dick" after his rebuttal to the State of the Union address on Tuesday night. "My comments on my personal Instagram about Kennedy’s response were inappropriate and I take full responsibility for that," Lahren wrote on Twitter. "I got too upset. I sincerely apologize." On Instagram a day earlier, Lahren had said: "If you haven't yet had the displeasure of watching that little limp dick's response to President Trump's State of the Union, I suggest you take some Pepto-Bismol or some Midol or whatever you need to do to get through it, because it was pathetic, and it was embarrassing. Oh my God." Lahren was referring to the performance of Kennedy, who offered the official Democratic Party rebuttal to Trump's speech. Lahr

US missile defense test failed in Hawaii

The US conducted an unsuccessful missile defense test on Wednesday, as a missile launched from land failed to intercept an incoming target launched from an aircraft over Hawaii, according to several administration officials. The Pentagon is not publicly acknowledging the failure of a key ballistic missile defense test, and the officials told CNN that the decision to remain silent is due, in part, to sensitivities surrounding North Korea's participation in the upcoming Olympic Games and continuing tensions with leader Kim Jong Un. US Department of Defense officials are trying to determine what went wrong, but so far all the Pentagon will officially say is that a test took place. "The Missile Defense Agency and US Navy sailors manning the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (AAMDTC) conducted a live-fire missile flight test using a Standard-Missile (SM)-3 Block IIA missile launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kauai, Hawaii, Wednesday morning," defe

Night photos that make Tokyo look like a sci-fi utopia

The Edo-Tokyo museum, modeled after a classic type of elevated warehouse, is already an impressive building in broad daylight and with no filters. But in the dead of the night and in the hands of Australian photographer Tom Blachford, it turns into a dystopian megastructure from a distant future, its cavernous looks supercharged by an otherworldly bluish hue. The photo is part of an all-Tokyo series called "Nihon Noir," after the Neon-noir movie genre that inspires its aesthetic. "The seminal classic 'Blade Runner' was a huge inspiration, not only for color but for aesthetic and approach," said Blachford in an email interview. He cites the work of "Drive" and "Only God Forgives" director Nicholas Winding-Refn as another source of influence. "There was quite a lot of post-production involved on these in order to translate the feeling that I wanted. I wanted to push past the orange tungsten glow and remove any feeling of natural o

President Trump opts out of Super Bowl interview

President Trump has decided not to participate in a Super Bowl Sunday interview this weekend. "He is not doing a Super Bowl interview," a White House official told CNN on condition of anonymity on Wednesday. Sources at NBC affirmed that their interview requests have been turned down. But Trump still has an open invitation, should he choose to change his mind, the sources said. NBC is televising the Super Bowl on Sunday. It is traditionally the highest-rated event of the year by far. A pre-Super Bowl interview with the president has become an American tradition in the past decade. When Fox televised the Super Bowl last year, Trump sat down with Fox's Bill O'Reilly at the White House. But this year it always looked unlikely that he would agree to an interview on NBC -- the network broadcasting the big game. He has repeatedly assailed NBC journalists and executives with "fake news" tweets. Trump's intent to turn down the invite was telegraphed a co

Former NBA player Rasual Butler, 'American Idol' star killed in car crash

Ex-NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife Leah LaBelle, a singer who appeared on "American Idol," were killed early Wednesday in a single-car crash in Southern California. Los Angeles police told Fox 11 the couple's Range Rover crashed at around 2:30 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Michelle Obama finally reveals what Melania Trump gave her during awkward gift exchange

Michelle Obama has finally revealed what was in that blue Tiffany's box that Melania Trump gave her on Inauguration Day last year. "It was a lovely frame," Obama shared with Ellen DeGeneres on her first appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" since leaving the White House. When Trump presented the former first lady with the square box, it made for a bit of an awkward moment, with Obama looking uncertain about what to do with it. In a preview clip from an upcoming show, posted by Entertainment Weekly, DeGeneres rolled footage while Obama explained what happened. "There is all this protocol," she explained on the show, which will air Thursday. "I mean, this is like a state visit so they tell you, 'You’re gonna do this, they’re gonna stand here.' Never before do you get this gift, so I’m sort of like, 'OK, where ... what am I supposed to do with this gift?'" As the audience laughed, she added, "everyone cleared out

Chrissy Teigen Got on Her Knees and Called Beyonce a Queen at the Grammys

She still gets starstruck by Queen Bey. Chrissy Teigen is everyone. The model and cookbook writer guested on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night, and revealed that her Beyonce encounter at the Grammy Awards Sunday involved getting on her knees and calling the "Formation" singer “my queen" — naturally. The soon-to-be mother of two said Queen Bey still flusters her, despite meeting her numerous times through 10-time Grammy-winning husband John Legend, who she said played it much cooler when talking to Jay-Z. “There’s nothing like seeing Beyonce,” she said. “I took her hands and I got down on my knees and I was like, ‘Sorry to bother you, my queen.'" The interview also included Teigen — who is five months pregnant with a boy — making Fallon guess how far along she is, as well as stories of her fake-crying strategy during her husband’s performances of the emotional “All of Me.” Watch Teigen in all of her relatable glory above. Equifax will offer free credit protection deal for five more months

Still haven't signed up for Equifax's free credit freeze? You just got a second chance. After disclosing a massive data breach last year, Equifax said it would waive the fee for credit freezes through January 31. But as the deadline approached this week, the company extended it to June 30. Personal information for 145.5 million people was exposed during the breach, including names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and some driver's license numbers. In addition, 209,000 credit card numbers were exposed. That kind of information could be used by criminals to open bank accounts, credit cards, or loans in your name -- without you knowing. But putting a freeze on your credit reports can help prevent that from happening. Equifax has offered credit freezes to everyone for free, whether or not they were affected by the breach. Usually, there is a fee to freeze your credit, ranging from $2 to $10, depending on what state you live in. Once you've frozen you

Mesut Ozil: Real reason Arsenal star has agreed new contract revealed by reporter

MESUT OZIL is signing a new Arsenal contract because of the recent transfer business the club has completed, according to Sky Germany reporter Max Bielefeld. Ozil has reportedly ended months of speculation by agreeing a three-and-a-half-year extension at Arsenal. The Germany international is to become the club’s highest paid player, earning £350,000-a-week. The news comes just hours after Arsenal completed the club-record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for around £60million. Ahead of hearing the Ozil news, Bielefeld claimed that deal had a big impact on the future of the 29-year-old. “We can’t confirm that information as of now,” Bielfeld said on Sky Sports News. “But one thing is for sure, Mesut Ozil told us the renewal of his contract always depended on what Arsenal did. “He always wanted new players coming in, he always wants to be in a team which is really competitive at the highest level. “Of course they lost Alexis Sanchez but they brought in (Henrikh) Mkh

At least one girl was killed and eight others injured when a strong magnitude 6.1 earthquake rattled Pakistan. Four schoolchildren were also injured when students stampeded out of their school, according to police and government officials. ISLAMABAD—A strong magnitude 6.1 earthquake rattled Pakistan and Afghanistan on Wednesday, including the capital cities of both countries, killing a young girl and injuring 15 others, officials said. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake’s centre was in northeast Afghanistan near the Pakistan border, about 35 kilometres south of Jarm in the Hindu Kush region. It had a depth of 191.2 kilometres. TV footage showed people in Islamabad fleeing offices and schools in panic. Rana Hamid Ali, who works at a private company, said when the quake hit he started running toward the stairs instead of using the office elevator to get out of the building. “We were doing routine work in our office when a strong earthquake suddenly rattled our building a

Redskins' trade for Alex Smith comes at significant cost

The Washington Redskins gave up on quarterback Kirk Cousins -- and did so at a steep price. Trading for Kansas City's Alex Smith makes sense, knowing Cousins wasn't likely to sign a long-term deal with Washington. And if he did, it would be costly. But trading for Smith comes at a cost as well. A steep one. Giving the Chiefs a third-round pick isn't bad; Washington will get a pick in the same round in 2019 as compensation when Cousins signs with someone in free agency. However, also included in the deal for Smith, according to sources, is cornerback Kendall Fuller, who is entering his third season and coming off an excellent year. Fuller is what Washington needs: a good, young and inexpensive starting-caliber defensive player. The Redskins didn't want to sign Cousins, feeling it would prevent them from keeping important pieces or finding other parts. That's fine. But then they include a promising young player as part of this trade? That's hard to digest. Fulle

BEIJING – British Prime Minister Theresa May has arrived in China on a visit focused on hashing out new trade arrangements once Britain leaves the European Union. May flew Wednesday to the central industrial center of Wuhan and is traveling later to Beijing for talks with Premier Li Keqiang (LEE kuh-chee-AANG') and President Xi Jinping (SHE JIN'-ping). May is accompanied by 50 British business leaders, including the chief executives of Jaguar Land Rover and drug firm AstraZeneca. She will also visit the financial hub of Shanghai before heading home on Friday. May wants to burnish the "golden era" between the countries announced by Xi during a state visit to Britain in 2015. Bolstering ties with China, the world's second-largest economy, became more urgent after Britain voted in 2016 to leave the EU. Trump's State of the Union spoke to America's innovative, entrepreneurial spirit. Carpe diem, everyone

After the recent federal government shutdown, the mood on Capitol Hill – and across the nation – seemed even more divided and mired in partisan gridlock. Despite this, President Trump issued a strong call for unity Tuesday night in his State of the Union address, urging all Americans to partner with him in celebrating a “new American moment." No matter your political leanings or your personal views, President Trump has followed through on his word to reform the tax system, cut unnecessary rules and boost the economy. Highlighting the achievements he and congressional Republicans have made over the past year, the president said his administration has “eliminated more regulations in our first year than any administration in the history of our country.” Already, U.S. businesses have felt the benefits of President Trump’s deregulatory executive orders. In just over the last year, 20 Consumer Technology Association (CTA) member companies have announced plans to create 250,000 U.S. j

Stormy Daniels Joins Jimmy Kimmel for Post-'State of the Union' Guest Appearance

The adult film star, who is reported to have had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006, appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Tuesday night. Hours after President Donald Trump delivered his first State of the Union address, the adult-film star he allegedly had an affair with in 2006 neither denied nor verified that she had signed an NDA that barred her from speaking about him. In a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Stormy Daniels — whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — addressed a letter that had been sent to several journalists on Tuesday reiterating a claim that she had not had an affair with Donald Trump. Clifford's alleged affair with Trump first came to light in a January Wall Street Journal story reporting that Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen had paid a $130,000 settlement to Clifford before the Nov. 2016 election that required her not to discuss an alleged encounter with Trump from 2006. According to Wall Street Journal sources, Clifford had "privately alle

The first lady's cream suit, kente cloth and purple ribbons: What the SOTU fashion choices meant

There was Kente cloth for Africa, there was black for #MeToo and white for, well no one is quite sure. Members of Congress and the first family wore various colors and items to tonight's State of the Union address to make political statements -- or not -- on a number of different issues. So what exactly do some of these choices represent? Kevin Towers, who guided the San Diego Padres to the World Series, dies at 56

Kevin Towers, the general manager who delivered to Padres fans a National League pennant and three other division titles, died early Tuesday after a long fight with cancer. He was 56. Towers was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer near the end of 2016. Towers was the Padres' general manager from 1995-2009. He guided San Diego to the top of the National League West on four occasions, including a World Series appearance in 1998. He was the Arizona Diamondbacks' general manager from 2010-14. Towers was effective at crafting trades with a wide spectrum of general managers and acquired several of the players for the 1998 team that set a club record with 98 victories and beat two 100-win teams in the playoffs before losing to the 114-win Yankees in the World Series. Thanks in part to the upgrades made by Towers — including the acquisition of '98 mainstays such as Kevin Brown, Wally Joyner, Greg Vaughn, Chris Gomez, Sterling Hitchcock and Quilvio Veras — the Padres crea

Glee actor Mark Salling found dead aged 35

Salling, who played Puck on the hit series, was facing up to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child abuse images Mark Salling, the actor best known for his role in Glee, has died at the age of 35. His attorney confirmed the news in a statement. The cause of death has not yet been verified. “Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment,” Salling’s lawyer, Michael Proctor, said. “The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.” Salling pleaded guilty last October to possession of child abuse images, and his sentencing was scheduled for 7 March. After his arrest in December 2015, Salling, best known for playing Noah Puckerman on the hit TV series, was indicted in May 2016 after a search warrant led to the discovery of over 50,000 images on his computer and flashdrive. James Corden Fires Back at Critics of Hillary Clinton's Grammys Appearance

"Well Nikki Haley, you can tell your boss, some of us love politics without the Twitter meltdowns thrown in," Corden argued on Monday's 'Late Late Show' in response to the U.N. Ambassador's tweet. Fresh off of hosting Sunday's Grammys on Monday's Late Late Show, James Corden addressed the criticism the ceremony faced for being too political. One of the night's biggest moments came when Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance as part of a sketch in which multiple celebrities read from Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House. Corden explained that the Trump administration found issue with it, after several political figures tweeted about the sketch. The late-night host then read a tweet posted by U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, who slammed the comedy bit, arguing “Some of us love music without politics being thrown into it.” “So I guess Nikki only liked the other nonpolitical moments of the Grammys. You know, Kendri

Andrea Tantaros Claims Female Fox News Employees Were Secretly Recorded Disrobing

The former co-host of 'The Five' is now representing herself in an amended lawsuit. Andrea Tantaros, the former Fox News star, is aiming to move forward in a lawsuit that alleges her former employer electronically surveilled and harassed her. In a proposed amended complaint filed Monday, she includes new allegations, such as how Fox News had a closed-circuit television network that allowed its former chief Roger Ailes to monitor offices, including ones where most Fox female talent disrobed daily. "There was also a bi-annual trunk show in the Spring and Fall conducted by Fox’s wardrobe department," states the amended complaint. "The trunk show was held in empty Fox offices and female talent was expected to disrobe down to their undergarments to try on new on-air dresses for the next season, without even the benefit of a curtain. The dresses were pre-selected for the women by the wardrobe department before their arrival; pants were not an option. Upon informatio

Health experts urge Facebook to shut down Messenger Kids

Child development advocates are calling on Facebook to discontinue its new Messenger Kids app, which is targeted at 6 to 12 year olds. On Tuesday, more than a dozen organizations and about 100 health experts sent a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg saying the new chat app will likely damage a child's healthy development. The effort is led by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC), an advocacy organization working to combat exploitative marketing to children. Other groups who signed the letter include the ACLU of Massachusetts, Media Education Foundation, Defending the Early Years and Parent Coalition for Student Privacy. "Raising children in our new digital age is difficult enough," the letter said. "We ask that you do not use Facebook's enormous reach and influence to make it even harder." The experts argue that younger children are not ready to have social media accounts. "They are not old enough to navigate the complexities

More than 63 million women 'missing' in India, statistics show

Sex-selective abortions and boys’ better nutrition and medical care blamed for gender disparity More than 63 million women are “missing” statistically across India, and more than 21 million girls are unwanted by their families, government officials say. The skewed ratio of men to women is largely the result of sex-selective abortions, and better nutrition and medical care for boys, according to the government’s annual economic survey, which was released on Monday. In addition, the survey found that “families where a son is born are more likely to stop having children than families where a girl is born”. Statistics indicate that India has 63 million fewer women than it should have, scientists say. The birth of a son is often a cause for celebration and family pride, while the birth of a daughter can be a time of embarrassment and even mourning as parents look towards the immense debts they will need to take on to pay for marriage dowries. Studies have shown that Indian gir

What happened to the State of the Union address? Originally, it helped the president and Congress deliberate.

On Tuesday night, President Trump delivers his State of the Union address, as have scores of presidents before him. But the performance likely won’t do what it was originally designed for: framing a productive debate between two branches of government about the nation’s direction. The State of the Union is in a state of decay, and has been since well before the age of Trump. The Constitution states that the president “shall from time to time give to Congress Information on the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” This directive is the ground from which our modern practice, bedecked with mass media pomp and circumstance, has grown. Televised viewership of the address has averaged around 40 million over the past decade. Theoretically, this gives the president a chance to lay out his vision for the country, to the country. But is that what the address really does in practice? Consider recent research

Rihanna Celebrates Grammy Win With Rumored Billionaire Boyfriend

Rihanna had a wild, wild night at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. She won the red carpet (without even walking it), took home a Grammy for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, left us in awe after her performance of “Wild Thoughts” and then shared a sweet moment with Pink and her daughter. After the awards show, Rihanna headed out to New York City hotspot 1 OAK with her reported billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel. Jameel is a Saudi heir whose family owns the rights to sell Toyota in Saudi Arabia and certain Middle Eastern countries, according to People. Rih wore a gorgeous, flowy gold number for the night, which she paired with a gold choker, gold hoops and purple eyeshadow. Jameel opted for a grey sweatshirt and a black jacket. The notoriously private couple made sure to exit the nightclub separately, but they looked very much together during a recent weekend trip to Paris.
